Tribute to James Paton, 1945 - 2026

Jim passed away peacefully, with his loving family by his side, at his home address on Monday, 17th August 2026, aged 81 years.

A beloved husband to Ann, a devoted dad to Julie & Steven, a cherished Grandpa to Olivia, Eve, Erin, Emily & Connie; a proud Great Grandpa to Leo; a much-loved father-in-law and brother and a wonderful friend to many.

Jim was such a lovely man who was thought so highly of by everyone fortunate enough to know him. His warm nature and genuine kindness meant he made an impression wherever he went, and he was held in great affection by so many people throughout his life.

Above everything else, Jim was a family man. He was loved beyond words by his family, and the love he had for every one of them was just as great. His family and friends have so many wonderful memories, stories and happy times shared with Jim that will continue to be spoken about, smiled about and treasured for generations to come. Although his absence will be felt enormously, the memories he leaves behind will ensure that Jim will never be forgotten.

Jim’s family take great comfort in believing that he is now reunited with his best friend Ian. No doubt the two of them will be raising a glass together in the sky, catching up on old times and watching over all the family and friends they loved and cared for so dearly.
